Due to the heat of the fire, the water droplets evaporate, increasing their volume by several times. The sudden evaporation inertizes the immediate atmosphere around the fire source. The water mist displaces the oxygen essential for the fire. When 1 liter of water evaporates, it generates 1673 liters of steam.
