Elmos Semiconductor develops, produces and sells semiconductors and sensors primarily for use in the automotive industry. For over 30 years, Elmos innovations with new functions have been making mobility safer, more comfortable and more energy-efficient worldwide.

Elmos has been using high-pressure water mist (HPWM) systems from AQUASYS to protect its semiconductor production at its headquarters in Dortmund since 2005. In the years 2007 to the present, extensions to the HDWN fire suppression system have followed as part of production expansions.

The clean rooms, their suspended ceilings and technical rooms are protected by a so-called “HDWN sprinkler system”. This means that the nozzle heads placed in the rooms contain small glass barrels. These burst at a certain temperature, triggering the system only at the source of the fire. There is an “open system” in the cable raised floors, which is controlled by an on-site fire alarm system.

After delivery, installation and commissioning by our own AQUASYS fitters, all maintenance is also carried out by specially trained personnel. ELMOS particularly appreciates the “all-inclusive” support provided by AQUASYS, from the quotation to project planning and implementation through to after-sales service.
